Qualifications

Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as Bakery Manager
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as Baker is required.

Important information:

Flexibility in schedule is required. Candidates must have availability to work weekends and holidays. The shifts per day are as follows and will be assigned depending on the business needs: 

  • 5 AM to 2:00 PM
  • 6 AM to 3:00 PM
  • 7 AM to 4:00 PM
  • 9 AM to 6:00 PM

A 30-minute unpaid lunch break will be provided as well as 2 paid healthy breaks of 15 minutes. Overtime may be required.

Job Description:

  • Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of the Bakery Department 
  • Manage staff and assign duties
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on sales
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, and implement price and credit policies
  • Source and negotiate with vendors when necessary to procure merchandise for resale
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies
  • Plan budgets, authorize expenditures, and monitor revenues
  • Evaluate and improve customer service and respond to customer requests and issues
  • Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff
  • Order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Oversea the baking of mixed dough and batters
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Draw up production schedules
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas
  • Keep records related to deliveries, inventory, and production levels
  • Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
