Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • High level of electrical knowledge and understanding of safety protocols
  • 3rd/4th year electrical or Red Seal Certified Electrical Journeyman Ticket is an asset
  • Previous custom wiring and control panel building experience is an asset
  • Previous PLC programming and or wiring experience is an asset
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Willing to take the initiative to solve problems
  • Strong teamwork mentality
  • Ability to work regular on-call rotations approximately every 4-6 weeks

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical agricultural equipment and controls (ex. motors, fans, winches, actuators, lighting, VFDs, PLCs, controllers, and automated egg collection and packing equipment)
  • Setup, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural computer hardware and software
  • Test and commission installed projects and equipment
  • Communicate with the Service Manager to ensure scheduled calls are completed in a timely manner
  • Complete and submit service orders and other paperwork daily as required
  • Participate in an on-call rotation including evenings and weekends as scheduled
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support by answering questions, providing information on maintenance of the product, explaining the work that has been done and providing solutions for recurring problems
  • Continuous learning to improve skills through reading manuals and working alongside other Technicians
