With exciting new opportunities and a commitment to environmental innovation, we are expanding our team. We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join us in the Ottawa area. Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in operating and maintaining our landfill gas-to-energy and flaring facilities, as well as performing gas wellfield monitoring and maintenance. This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional passionate about renewable energy and sustainability. While the position is based in Ottawa, occasional travel within the Eastern Ontario corridor may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain landfill gas to energy and flaring systems.
- Perform gas wellfield monitoring, tuning, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Record and maintain operational and maintenance logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
- Comply with safety and environmental standards and participate in regular training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification is an asset)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations or maintaining mechanical machinery is preferred. Experience in the landfill gas or renewable energy sector is preferred, but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (day shift).
- On-Call Requirements: On call every 6-7 weeks in Eastern Ontario.
- Overtime: Approximately 20 hours per month.
- Reports to: Manager – Plant Operations.
