SCOPE
Looking to take the next exciting step in your career? As the successful candidate, you would assess plumbing designs, materials, and safety devices for compliance with related by-laws, regulations and codes. This position will primarily be responsible for inspection and regulatory work involving all types of plumbing, hydronic heating, site services and drain tile installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check plumbing plans, confirm testing of plumbing systems, and inspect all types of plumbing installations for conformance with bylaws, regulations, and codes.
- Review site services.
- Observe tests of plumbing systems and complete inspections of all types of plumbing installations for conformance with by-laws, regulations, codes and the approved plumbing permit drawings.
- Provide technical advice, assistance, interpretation and information to the general public, owners, contractors, engineers and architects on matters related to the work.
- Write correspondence and reports for inspection results, complaints and investigations.
- Use excellent customer service skills to create positive experiences for residents throughout the inspection process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Certification as a Qualified Plumber by the Province of B.C. or out of province equivalent.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Journeyman Plumber or plumbing contractor or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Successful completion of Level 1 certification from the Plumbing Officials Association of B.C. or willing to obtain within 30 months from date of hire as a condition of employment.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Cross Connection Control Certification is considered an asset.
- This position requires walking, lifting, use of ladders, physical labour and may be outdoor in all weather conditions.
- A Police Information Check will be required.
