About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is seeking a Plumbing Official to review new and existing residential, commercial and industrial plumbing, sewer and fire sprinkler installations and related plans ensuring compliance with applicable municipal standards, codes, by-laws, regulations and acts. This interesting and challenging position is responsible for enforcement of ordinances and providing technical information to property owners, contractors, engineers, architects and other municipal staff on matters related to the previously mentioned installations.
Minimum Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of plumbing, fire sprinkler and sewer standards, codes, by-laws, regulations and acts as well as the methods, practices, tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade. They also will possess an understanding of the policies and procedures governing the work performed and proven ability to examine, check and interpret building plans and specifications and to recognize technical requirements for plumbing, fire sprinkler, sewer and drainage installations and systems.
The successful incumbent will possess a Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing for the Province of BC (TQ), be registered as a Qualified Plumbing Official (Level 2). A valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is also required.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $46.06 - $54.43 (2024 rates). The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
