Qualifications

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • Appropriate professional preparation in the teaching of Technology Education; a diploma certificate in Technology Teacher Education (TTED) is required
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully teaching woodworking at the secondary level.
  • Commitment to ensuring WCB and WorksafeBC safety standards in the shop environment
  • Knowledge and commitment to the Ministry of Education Secondary curriculum and a willingness to explore and implement concepts and competencies from the curriculum.
  • Willingness to work with highly motivated students to ensure maximum success beyond graduation demonstrated ability to motivate, and provide success for struggling learners in Secondary Math.
  • Demonstrated ability to devise and use a variety of assessment processes that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies that maintain the dignity of students with an emphasis on a proactive approach.
