Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in plumbing and piping.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship with Interprovincial (Red Seal) endorsement.
  • Six to ten years of recent, relevant industry experience.
  • Strong commitment to learner-centered teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Description/Duties

As a Vocational Instructor – Plumbing and Piping, you will play a key role in shaping the future of trades education. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development. Your expertise will support our students in gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assess students in plumbing and piping courses.
  • Develop and revise course materials to ensure relevancy.
  • Advise and support students in their academic and professional journey.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student work.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program planning.
  • Represent Okanagan College at industry and academic events.
