Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of a related apprenticeship program and a Certificate of Apprenticeship with an Interprovincial endorsement.
- An undergraduate degree and post secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants with an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience may be considered.
- An Instructor's Diploma or valid BC Teacher's Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
- Six to ten years recent relevant experience.

The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one's field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.
Functions and Duties:
Instructional duties may include any or all of the following:
- Instructional (teaching assignments)
- Course and program preparation and revision
- Student contact
- Student advising
- Evaluation and marking of student work
- Other functions related to instruction
Professional duties may include any or all of the following:
- Curriculum development
- Student registration
- Pre-registration duties
Service may include any or all of the following:
- School visitations
- Participation on OC committees
- Attendance at articulation meetings
- Representing OC at other functions
- Administrative and other duties
Professional development activity that is intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence, and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.

Schedule:
- Given on-call nature of position, schedule, campus location, and frequency of instruction may vary.
- Typical instructional day is 7.5 hours long. Typical instructional week is four days and would not exceed 30 hours.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate:
Salary range $71,846 to $115,129 annually; normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.
